David says in verse 7:

Though I walk in the midst of trouble,

You will revive me;

You will stretch out Your hand

against the wrath of my enemies,

And

Your right hand will save me.

Below is a related Bible verse.

God is speaking directly to us in this verse.

Isaiah 41:10 NKJV

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

In Psalm 138 verse 7,

I am going to focus on the words

"in the midst."

Below is a devotional focused on that phrase.

-

In the Midst

I find myself “in the midst” a lot –

in the midst of difficulty,

in the midst of confusion,

in the midst of trouble,

in the midst of -----

Today I was "in the midst" of a difficulty. As I was cleaning the kitchen, I noticed that I was singing.

I was singing a song I had never heard. Actually it was more like a little chorus. I kept singing these words over and over, “I will praise you in the midst. I will praise you in the midst. I will praise you, Lord, in the midst.”

I will praise you

in the midst.

It has been months since I thought about the words “in the midst.”

As I drew my attention to what was happening, I realized that the Holy Spirit was giving me a song to remind me to praise him EVEN when I am in the midst.

The Holy Spirit was clearly leading me today.

Wow!

And I am reminded that the Bible tells us that praise and worship changes things.

For example,

in the Bible story of

Jehoshaphat and the people of God,

we see that God's people experienced a miracle

because

they praised God.

2 Chronicles 20:22 ERV says...

As they began to sing and to praise God,
the Lord set an ambush
for the army from Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir
who had come to attack Judah.
The enemy was defeated!

2 Chronicles chapter 20 has the story.

Perhaps

the above devotion

(which was previously posted on my original blog)

will not only inspire me

but you as well.

Next,

we will celebrate the

Power of

Praise & Worship.

I hope you will enjoy the rest of this page -

music, scripture, and prayers.

It is

Powerful

to

Praise and Worship God.

When we worship,

the

Lion of Judah

ROARS!

Consider our page:

The Lion of Judah!

Praise and worship uplifts us, helps us see things in a new light, and helps us think more clearly.

Praise and worship can also calm us and enable us to hear God's guiding voice more clearly.

Psalm 138 also says,

When I pray,

you answer me,

and encourage me

by giving me the strength I need.

A Prayer for

Difficult Situations

inspired by the story of

David and Goliath

(Taken from the following page: here)

Mighty God,

Today when I feel weak, I will remember that you are my strength.

Today, when I feel weak, I will remember the times that I prevailed over difficult bear situations and over difficult lion situations.*

I will walk boldly as you guide me through this current Goliath difficulty.

I will walk boldly as I face Goliath encounters.

I will remember that you created me to be a Champion for Christ.

I will walk in Power, Love, and a Sound Mind.

I will intentionally focus on your Miraculous Power and on your LOVE for me.

In JESUS' Mighty NAME,

I PRAY,

Amen

*As David faced Goliath, he reminded himself that he had already prevailed over a bear and a lion through the power of God. Thinking about those triumphs increased his faith.

Psalm 138 Prayer

Father God,

You are an Awesome God. You are able to bring me through any difficulty. You uphold me with your righteous right hand.

I will worship you, Lord, for you have the solution to every problem. You have the answer to every question. You know all things, and your love for me is full and complete.

I will praise you even when I am "in the midst."

In the miraculous name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen

O God my Strength!

I will sing your praises,
