A Daily Devotional
Monday through Wednesday
by Beth McLendon
Topic:
Psalm 19
It includes
the answer to the question -
How do people in remote areas
- who never heard of Jesus -
get to heaven?
I give my response, and I post a great video on the topic.
Monday
Psalm 19
The Heavens declare the glory of God.
The Sky
and all that is in the
Sky
Speak!
-
Today we give thoughts
on
the sky speaking.
Verses 1 - 4
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
2 Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.
The sky speaks a universal language that all can hear.
The daytime sky speaks.
The nighttime sky speaks.
Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
For God Himself is Judge.

Psalm 50:6
A beautiful song about Psalm 19.
When someone takes the time
to look up into the heavens and ponder -
they will find
their Creator.
Just as no one would
visit
Mt. Rushmore and think that the sculpture formed naturally...
people who look
at the sky with an open heart
will realize that
someone made the sky and all that is in it.
That someone is God.
One of the reasons for the sky
is to reveal
that there is
an Awesome and Amazing Creator.
The more a person ponders,
the more revelation they will receive.
The heavens
provide just enough information
for people
to find God.
The Bible gives the full revelation.

What about
people who
have not
heard of Jesus?
People sometimes ask,
"What about the eternal destiny
for people
in remote areas
who have never heard of Jesus and do not have a Bible?
How will they find God?
How can they get to heaven?
The answer is - - - the heavens.
Romans chapter 1
puts a lot of weight
on viewing the heavens
when speaking about our eternal fate.
It tells us that
those who are without Biblical knowledge
can find God
by looking at the heavens.
By looking at the heavens and pondering,
any man or woman
will come to the conclusion
that there is a God -
A Great and Wonderful God.
Consider Romans 1:18-20 NLT below.
Take note of the words in green
and the last few words written in red.
" But God shows his anger from heaven
against all sinful, wicked people
who suppress the truth by their wickedness.
They know the truth about God
because he has made it obvious to them.
For ever since the world was created,
people have seen the earth and sky.
Through everything God made,
they can clearly see
his invisible qualities -
his eternal power and divine nature.
So they have no excuse for not knowing God."
Romans 1:18-20 NLT
People who receive God from viewing the heavens
will not understand
Jesus
but
they can
be viewed by God
as righteous
and heaven-bound
if they follow their Creator as best they can.
NOTE:
Those who have access to the Bible
will not be excused
from reading it.
To whom much is given,
much is required.
Luke 12:48 b NLT
We are given the Bible,
and we are required to read it.
God sees his Bible as a treasure.
And he expects people to see it that way as well.
God expects for us to get Revelation and Motivation from the Bible.
In verses 10 - 11,
God describes how wonderful his Scriptures are.
If
we don't agree,
then we need to re-think and re-new our mind!
In speaking about
His Bible Scriptures,
God says in...
Psalm 19:10-11 NLT
They are more desirable than gold,
even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey,
even honey dripping from the comb.
11 They are a warning to your servant,
a great reward
for those who obey them.
Psalm 19:10-11 NLT

How will God judge?
The video above addresses this question also.
God will judge a
sinful person
who never followed God
and
who could have read the Bible but didn't,
a lot harsher
than
a sinful person who never followed God and
never had access to the Bible.
See Luke 12:47-48.

Psalm 19
proclaims
the wonders of God's World and God's Word.
God's Word
reveals
God's Power, God's intellect,
God's majesty, God's glory,
God's orderliness, God's organization,
God's creativity,
God's Amazing LOVE,
God's mercy,
and...
Scripture makes it obvious
that
God is worthy of
our worship, our praise, and our obedience!
Amen!
