Prayer for Rejected Parents

Rejection from an adult child

is

overwhelming.

Some adult children who reject a parent

keep contact

but

tenderness of heart is gone.

Whether your adult child

is still

in contact or not -

that

I am praying

for

a

hurting parent.

The first prayer

is

for a hurting

mother.

The second prayer

is

for a hurting

father.

Heavenly Father,

You have a father's heart.

You know the pain when a child distances himself from you.

I lift up prayer for this hurting mother.

Come and surround this hurting mother

with your embrace and your strength. 

Stir up

her child's heart.

Stir up the love that her child has

for

his or her mom.

Bring her child thoughts that open a doorway to hope and healing in this relationship.

Bring love and forgiveness into the forefront of her child's mind and heart. 

Bring people into her child's life

to share the words

that this child needs to contempate

in order to heal this rift. 

Lord, you are the one who repairs relationships and restores joy.

This prayer is lifted up in the name of Jesus,

Amen
