Psalm 99

Psalm 99

Thoughts from Beth McLendon

This Psalm

reminds me that

In my good days and in my bad days,

I can rest in the fact

that God is over all things,

he will one day make all things right,

and

he loves me.

-

And he loves YOU.

Mighty is the One who Loves Me.

Mighty is the One who takes care of Me.

-

Everything about God

is

Holy, Righteous, and full of Truth.

This Psalm highlights

the Power, the Holiness, and the Majesty

of our God.

This Psalm emphasizes the holiness of God by

writing

"God is Holy"

three times

in its content.

Verses 3, 5, and 9

-

Psalm 97:12 NKJV says:

"Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous,

And give thanks at the remembrance of

His holy name."

God says holiness is beautiful.

Psalm 96:9 NKJV

"Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!"

Most Christians today

cringe

when someone mentions that

God tells us to be holy.

Why has the words "Holy" and "Holiness"

become words most Christians

strongly avoid?

question-marks-4

Has it occurred to you

that

the devil,

 - the enemy of our soul -

has completed

a public relations campaign

to ruin

the biblical understanding of the word

Holy

?

question-mark-2022

The words

Holy and Holiness

have gained a bad reputation

through the hard work

of the demonic kingdom.

words

This demonic campaign

was done to steal something from us.

-

To steal the truth that

Holiness is actually a beautiful concept.

-

The devil wants us to believe that

holiness is the opposite of what it really is.

arrow-curved-blue

God says holiness is actually a beautiful concept.

But

most of you will struggle with that idea.

If that is you,

I hope you will keep reading and open your heart.

-

Holy means set apart.

Christians are to be set apart

from the filth and grime

and depths of sin and sadness

that the world tries to draw us into.

God created our destiny

to be

enjoying God's love and growing to look like Jesus.

God knows we will never be perfect.

Nevertheless,

he is asking us to keep growing toward holiness.

much loved child

imitates his father.

Many people will relate to the following story.

I was talking to a

close friend about the topic of holiness.

She shared

that growing up,

there was a holiness church in her town.

Those who attended had

attitudes and an appearance

that resulted in her developing...

a bad impression of the word "Holiness."

She now realizes that

the demonic kingdom

helped her to

focus on that church,

and associate the idea of

holiness

with ideas such as

unhappiness, self-righteousness, pride,

and dullness of living.

-

Only recently has she realized her programming.

She has come to realize

the beauty of holiness.

She realizes

that the devil had worked to steal right thoughts

from her mind

which affected her spiritual life.

-

Now she has renewed her mind,

and she loves the word

Holiness.

God is not trying to

take fun or happiness away from us

by telling us to be holy.

He is trying to

protect us from many problems, difficulties, and trials.

red-down-arrow

I suggest that we need to be more aware

of the devil's plan

to destroy the words

"Holy"  and  "Holiness"

and allow

God to renew our mind to think more like him.

-

My DISC personality mentor

Dr. Robert Rohm

often says,

"We cannot beware of something

if we are not

aware of it."

-

Now that we are aware,

I suggest that...

Every time we hear the words "holy" or "holiness,"

we need to remember

the devil's schemes

to taint our thoughts about these words.

We need to cooperate with God

to

re-train our mind to think like God thinks.

Bible-ephesians

One of the purposes of

reading the Bible

is to put ourselves in a position

to allow God

to

re-train our mind

so that we think like Him.

God calls this re-training

Renewing our Mind.

When we read the Bible with a teachable heart,

we allow God to

renew our mind.
