except a baby.

A Prayer
to Minister to your Emotions.

Dear Lord,

I look down at my empty arms, and I experience a depth of pain that scares me.

How can I wait much longer without collapsing under the mounting pain? I have been waiting and waiting.

I've tried everything, Lord. I've tried everything humanly possible. I've prayed and prayed. I can't do anything to make a baby start to grow in me.

Nobody but you can bring life to my womb. I want to convince you, cajole you, reason with you! How can this desire be so powerful and not be your will?

I see the full arms of other women. How can I look at them without my envy creating destructive anger in my voice?

How can I attend a baby shower without everyone seeing my overwhelming frustration and grief?

I know I should be joyful and share in their happy time, but I can't. I don't know how. Help me, Lord.

Lord, please give me a baby!
