Ephesians 6 verse 4
Our Amazing Heavenly Father
wants us to
understand
what an amazing Father looks like
and how to be one.
He also wants to heal the heart of those who have been
hurt by a father - or a mother.
Be sure and check out
the video
at the bottom of the page
on healing the wounded heart
and creating a great relationship with God.

Let's Begin
with
looking at traits
of a
good father.
A
Picture
is worth
a Thousand Words.
Good Fathers
have the ability
to calm and bring security
to their family and the world around them.
A
Father
functioning
like God intends
is
POWERFUL.

In Ephesians,
God emphasizes
some key parts
of a
Father's job description.

Ephesians 6:4 NKJV
says
" And you, fathers,
do not provoke your children to wrath,
but
bring them up
in the training and admonition of the Lord. "
Many people have been greatly hurt by their father.
And many have been greatly hurt by their mother.
Note that this Bible verse highlights
Fathers.
This page will examine
why God is emphasizing Fathers here.
NOTE:
Most of the parenting information that is given
is needed by
both parents.
Yet,
I will emphasize the role of Father.

There are
Three Parts to this Scripture
First point -
What does - " Do not provoke to wrath " mean?
Answer:
Do not
treat your child in a way
that would create an anger in them
that they carry around in life.
Instead,
raise your child
in a way that creates a loving bond.
Avoid harshness -
and
be a dad who can
ask his child for forgiveness when he messes up.
This first point includes
avoiding
arbitrary rules, inconsistent rules
or
inconsistent application.
It is VERY hard to be consistent.
But
fathers are called to consistency -
and to
humbly admit when they have messed up.
It is vital
that you aim to be fair to all your children.

Consider
Creative Punishments
Sometimes firm talking
is enough

Second point -
What does - " Train them - of the Lord " mean?
Answer:
Train them to know the Bible and be obedient to it.
Teach them about God and their responsibilities in this world.
Teach them to be > obedient to God.
Teach them how to resist temptations.
Yet also teach them
to obey you,
their mother,
and all proper forms of authority.
This point also includes teaching them
wisdom and cultivating common sense.
*
If you don't know the Bible very well,
be open with your children and humble.
Tell them that God has told you that you need to learn more.
Model for your children that you obey and respect God.

The Bible tells us
that our spiritual goal is -
" Follow God’s example
in everything you do
just as
a much - loved
child
imitates
his father. "
Ephesians 5:1 TLB
-
Below
is a picture
of how
God wants us to view him

Third point -
What does " bring them up in the admonition of the Lord " mean?
Answer:
Teach them that
punishment will come for those who disobey.
Show them and Teach them
that
appropriate fatherly punishment
is
punishment rooted in love - not rejection.
A godly father follows through on appropirate punishment.
If
a good father gives an unreasonable punishment,
he comes back to the child
and
makes modification and apologies.
A good father
is not focused on his ego or saving face
but instead
on
protecting the ones he loves.
This point
includes
warning your child of what will cause punishment.

In our world -
the word " Father "
is not
defined as
what God wants
and
not lived out as God desires.
We have lost our way.
God is calling to us
to allow him to teach us
about the true definitions
of
Father and Family.
The role of Father
was designed to be
the bedrock foundation
of the family

God wants the world to be
full of
loving Fathers
who sit with God and learn from the Bible.
A Father is to be trained
by
The Father of Fathers
who is Father God.

Before I continue this page,
I want to offer
a great sermon
about Father God.
The video below addresses the topic of
" Father God and the role of Fathers "
in a
better way than I can.
I hope you will consider watching this video.
The sermon starts at
1 hour
13 minutes.
You will see that this is a Messianic Jewish service.
These are Jews who believe
Jesus IS their Messiah.
They embrace the New Testament.
They believe in the Trinity of God.
This guest speaker
will use a couple of Hebrew words.
Adonai is Hebrew for Lord.
Adonai can refer to Father God or Jesus.
Yeshua is Hebrew for Jesus.
Ruach is Hebrew for Holy Spirit.
Yochanan the Immerser = John the Baptist
The Best Fathers
still
need more guidance
so they can
fulfill the big shoes that God has ordained for them.
The worst Fathers
have created great pain and suffering for their children
as God explains in Ephesians 6:4.
Those men
need
mature men to teach them.
They need to repent and become teachable.
They need more time with God.
They need the forgiveness of their family.
We are all - Desperate - for God.
And most people are oblivious to that fact.

God wants men
to be firm against sin
and
protect their family against sin
that includes appropriate discipline with his children
while
being
wise , kind, merciful, and forgiving.

God wants to create
fathers
who are strong against things
which could hurt or harm his family
or
his community
but
warm, approachable, and welcoming
with his family.
Being a good Father
is not
an easy job.
The world wants Fathers to be easy on sin and excuse it.
The world wants Fathers to be seen as "not too bright."
The world teaches people to disrespect Fathers.
The world wants Fathers
to lay down their natural tendencies
of protection
and
feel intimidated by words such as "toxic masculinity."
Men are being pulled one way and then another.
Young men
see
no
role models and drift into sin.
God is calling this generation to rise up
and
FOLLOW Jesus!

Evangelist Jack Frost
has taught extensively
about
Fathers -
For Example....
How to be a good father -
How to feel loved and adored by Father God -
and
How to be healed from the wounds of an earthly father.
-
Jack Frost does an
AMAZING
job
of explaining
Healing Emotional wounds
and
How to have a GREAT relationship with Father God.
I hope you will watch even more of his videos.
Jack did not explain one part clearly.
So I will :
God wants love
to be our relationship with him on this earth.
Jesus will however judge us after our death.
And it will be harsh -
if
we have not repented and lived our life for Jesus.....
- Not perfectly but sincerely and wholeheartedly -
Jesus
took our harsh penalty for sin on the cross.
If you would not accept his payment, then you must pay.
See our page

I highly recommend Jack Frost.

I end with this prayer.
Would you join me?
Lord,
As men and women of God,
we pray the following things.
May your Bible words become our guiding light.
May we daily desire to learn from your Bible.
May we desire to repent
of all the ways we sinned against you and people.
May our intimacy with you
- and with our loved ones -
grow each day.
May we put you in the center of our life.
That
is our daily aim.
These words are prayed in Jesus' name,
Amen
