Easter Video for Children

The following Easter video

tells the Easter story

from the book of Mark.

Mark wrote down what Peter told him.

Peter was one of the 12 Disciples of Jesus.

Note:

There are notes for adults further down the page.

Suggestion:

Tell  your child or children that this story is...

a cartoon about fictional children

who go back in time

to find out about the last few days of Jesus.

The children are fictional but the story is real.

The story is from the Bible.

Be sure and check out - further down the page -

why

Jesus said,

"My God, My God why have you forsaken me?"

Notes to help you

Explain the Video:

Jesus got angry because the temple was to be a
House of Prayer
not a place of  merchants cheating people.

Then we see what we call
"The Last Supper"
where we get communion of the symbolic body and blood of Jesus.

Peter says he will never deny Jesus,

but he does 3 times.

Then Jesus goes to
The Mount of Olives
to pray to the Father.
There he is thinking and praying about
what would happen to him the next day,
and he begins to sweat great drops of blood.

* * *

When the authorities came to arrest Jesus,
Peter took his sword
and
cut off the ear of a servant.
Jesus picked up the ear and healed the man.

Jesus was taken and beaten and laughed at.

The suffering of Jesus,
 was necessary
because sin is terrible
and sin had to be paid for once and for all
by Jesus
so
we could go heaven if we repent of our sins and
love Jesus.

Soldiers rolled dice for his cloak.

Jesus said,
"My God, My God why have you forsaken me."

There are several reasons why Jesus said that -

for one...

ALL the sins of the World
were laid on Jesus, and he became sin
as he was on the cross. 2 Corinthians 5:21....BUT

When Jesus died, graves were opened. See this page.

For older children,

explain that

Hosanna

means "Save us now" in Hebrew.

-

Why were they shouting "Save us now" ?

Answer:

The Jewish people were treated badly by Rome.

They were hoping that Jesus would come and save them from the Romans.

But Jesus came to save us from our sins.
