for Easter

Monday

Dear Lord,

I want this Easter season to revive me.

Stir up my zeal.

Stir up my enthusiasm for following you.

Revive me, again.

I will yield to you.

Amen

Lyrics at the bottom of the page.

Does the fact that Jesus has risen

still stir your soul?

Tuesday

Jesus, you gave your life for me.

So I will live my life for you.

An Easter Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I celebrate your love that came down into a manger.

Love came down from heaven.

Love lived among us.

Love expressed compassion.

Love provided healing.

Love revealed truth.

Love gave wisdom.

Love suffered and died for our sins.

Love was raised on the third day.

And Love reigns in my heart.

Today I celebrate that Love.

Amen.

Wednesday

God,
Stir me up today
to be one of your most dedicated followers!

Dear Lord,

This week, as I think about the Cross of Calvary, I am stirred up to be more dedicated to you.

Lord, wake up every part of me that has shut you out.

Share with me every way that I have turned my back on you.

Today:

I will renew my walk with you.

I want to hear you more clearly.

I want to follow you more closely.

I declare that:

I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I will not be embarrassed about being dedicated to you.

I will not let other people hinder my excitement about seeking to please you.

My life is going to be all about following you!

I pray these things in the mighty name of Jesus,

Amen

Thursday

Thoughts to Ponder:

What does it mean to be
a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ?

What kind of lifestyle is it?

What kind of changes is God nudging me to make?

Friday

The following is an excerpt
from our historical fiction account
of the first Easter.

Many unusual occurrences took place in Jerusalem

around the time of the resurrection.

~

On the day that Jesus died, several strange things happened.

At noon, darkness fell on the land and continued for three hours.
There was a great earthquake that shook all of Jerusalem and another great earthquake was felt on resurrection morning.

~

Dead People Walking

Matthew 27:50-54 begins at the cross with Jesus dying.
The New King James Version says,

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and
yielded up His spirit.

Then, behold, the veil of the temple
was torn in two from top to bottom;
and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,

and the graves were opened;
and many bodies of the saints
who had fallen asleep were raised;
and coming out of the graves after His resurrection,
they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened,
they feared greatly, saying, 'Truly this was the Son of God!'”

Saturday

Search me, God
just as it says in Psalm 139:23-24.

I want to please you.
Show me how to become more like Jesus.

The following video is a song
taken from Psalm 139:23-24.

Lyrics for "Revive us Again"

We've turned from Your ways
Lord, Your fruit we've ceased to bear
We lack the power we once knew in our prayers
That gentle voice from heaven
We cease to hear and know
The fact that He has risen no longer stirs our soul

Revive us oh Lord
Revive us oh Lord
And cleanse us from our impurities
And make us holy
Hear our cry
And revive us oh Lord

Though we've been unfaithful
We have never been disowned
The spirit that raised Christ from the dead
Compels us to His throne

Revive us oh Lord
Revive us oh Lord
And cleanse us from our impurities
And make us holy
Hear our cry
And revive us

Revive us oh Lord
Revive us oh Lord

And cleanse us from our impurities
And make us holy
Hear our cry
And revive us

Revive us oh Lord
Revive us oh Lord
And cleanse us from our impurities
