Prayer when something is wrong...

Prayer for a friend or family member

who is acting strangely

and you are becoming concerned.

-

These prayers are for adults or teenagers,
female or male,
who have
had
some kind of personality change that concerns you.

-

God gives us clues and discernment

so we can pray for our loved ones. 

Lord,

I believe that something is very wrong in my loved one's life.

The following is a prayer

that includes most situations

where a person

is

changing their

normal actions and normal way of speaking

in a way that stirs up

concern in your mind.

This prayer is written for a female and rewritten for a male

at the bottom of the page.

Merciful Lord,

I come to you in prayer, lifting up _______  to you.

Lord, I keep getting a feeling that something is very wrong with her.

Lord, if it is an addiction problem,

I pray that she will hear you gently whispering to her that she has an addiction problem. Tenderly guide her to face this situation - including its present problems for her and its future snares. Lord, I pray that you would share with her how to get free of it. Guide her as to what to do and who to confide in.

Lord, if it is a response to some kind of abuse,

I pray that you would comfort her and cover her with protection. Strengthen her to be able to tell a safe person what happened or is happening. Guide her toward the right help. 

Lord, if it is a sinful sexual relationship,
that she is in with either a male or even with a female,

I pray that she would hear you lovingly guiding her away from this sinfulness and guiding her toward purity and toward right thinking. Remind her that you love her, and that you are ready to forgive her. Fill her with wisdom and with the truths she needs.

Lord, if it is a physical or mental situation, 
where her body or her mind needs healing,

I pray that you would abundantly provide all that she needs to receive healing and wholeness.  If your will is that she get professional help, guide her to the right help. Send her along a healing pathway that takes all confusion and disturbance from her mind -  and all sickness and malfunction from her body.  Protect her from people who would make matters worse. Guide her toward people who would make matters better.

Lord, if it is ungodly friends and activities,
or loneliness

I pray that you would make stale the sinful things of this world and make fresh the things of you. Give her the wisdom and strength to say NO to sinful things and ungodly friends -  and to say YES to right things and godly companions. Lord, bring new godly companions to bless her life. I pray that she will desire to follow godly common sense and to gain biblical clarity.

Lord, if it is a crisis
concerning her faith in you,

I pray that she will feel your stable, loving arms steadying her and your voice speaking safety and security in you. I pray that she will recognize truth and follow truth. I pray that you will expose lies that are trying to take hold of her life. I pray that you would help her to solidify her faith in you and your Word.

Come against confusion in her mind. Help her to think clearly. Give her wisdom and strength of character to combat the things that are coming against her. Draw mature godly Christians into her life.

Lord, whatever she faces,

I pray that she would be more aware of your awesome love for her.

I pray that she would have spiritual ears to hear you, and motivation & strength to follow you.

And I pray that she would receive your comfort and the assurance of your help as she moves to resolve whatever the issue or issues are. 

Lord, I pray that in the future,

she will look back upon this time and see your hand guiding her and rescuing her through this difficult time. 

In Jesus' name, I lift up this prayer from a heart of love for her and love for you, Lord.

Next is the rewritten prayer for a Male

Merciful Lord,

I come to you in prayer, lifting up _______  to you.

Lord, if it is an addiction problem,
