Prayer for a Friend

Our Lord Jesus

wants us

to let go

of offense

and

learn how to 

resist

future temptations to take offense.

-

That is not too much to ask. 

Jesus gave his ALL for us.

There is an old hymn that says -

Jesus paid it all.

All to him I owe.

Sin had left a crimson stain

He washed it white as snow.

God intends

for believers in Jesus

to grow to

look

more and more like Jesus.

God intends for believers to learn to become

OVERCOMERS!

God calls us

to live as Jesus would live.

We are to be new in Christ.

Galatians 2:20 NLT

says,

" My old self has been crucified with Christ.

It is no longer I who live,

but Christ lives in me.

So I live

in this earthly body

by trusting in the Son of God,

who loved me and gave himself for me. "

Holding Offense in our Heart

is against God's commands.

We need to go through the process of

repenting and

digging out of our heart

any offense we carry.

We have lots of help for learning to forgive - Here

Our First Prayer

is

Prayer for a Friend

Note That

It is easier to pray for someone else

about their sin

than to pray about us.

So...

I believe that this prayer

will not only bless the person you pray for -

but it will also -

begin to break up any hardness in you as well.

Choose a Christian Friend

to pray for and put that friend's name in the prayer blank.

Please

Modify the Prayer for a Male Friend

Lord of Love and Guidance,

I come before you to pray for my friend ________.

Father, I ask you to stir her heart and bring her help against offense.

Come mightily to aid her against offense in her life.

Raise her up above the devil's plans for her.

Teach her to defeat the devil's attempts to get her offended.

Strengthen her.

Stir her to respond supernaturally.

Encourage her to be a Mighty Woman of God.

Help her to see

the goal of being

un - offendable

as

admirable, achieveable, and laudable.

May she see

that she is strong in the Lord

and

able

to raise her Shield of Faith

to

destroy

the fiery darts of offense

that are

hurled at her.

Help her to see herself

as an Amazing Woman

because

she serves an Amazing God!

Remind her that your strength is available to her

as

she submits to you and resists the devil.

I pray in the Life - Transforming Name of Jesus Christ,

So -

We

Resist the devil -

by saying NO to

Offense!

Concerning

Offense -

What the devil meant for our harm,

God means to take and use to grow us spiritually.

Dear God,

You are my Shepherd and my Lord.

I come to you today to say that I am going to get serious about resisting offense.

I am increasing my Faith that you are going to help me defeat offense. 

I am growing my Faith and I am moving forward

to receive Inspiration

and

to learn your Power Strategies. 

     By Faith I know that...

You will take every past offense that I carry

 - and every new temptation - 

and turn them

into a stepping stone on the path to

Powerful Maturity in Christ.

I will submit to you. 

God,

I am growing my determination

to reject

every new offense

that the devil attempts

to get me to

pick up and carry.

I will smash his plans to smithereens.

I am trusting you to teach me

HOW

to resist picking up offense.

God, I will allow you to motivate me.

I will remind myself of my supernatural destiny and heritage. 

I am called to be Mighty in Christ Jesus.

I CAN

learn to easily deflect offense attempts

and

become a living picture

of love and compassion

for

my Savior's glory.

Jesus died to set me free from sin.

He died to set me free from acting like the world.

He died to set me free from acting like a mere human being.

I have Supernatural help

available to me from

God Almighty! 

I will learn how to be an

Amazing Overcomer!

As I battle and win

these skirmishes with offense,

I am going to gain great confidence

in standing

in the Power of Jesus Christ

and picking up my

Shield of Faith

and saying

 NO to the enemy.

I am becoming a

Supernatural Overcomer.

I will see the blessings of the Lord in the land of the living!

Prayer is Powerful.

God's Word is full of Strength!

God tells us to

PUT  ON

H i s 

 POWER  Armor

so we can

O V E R C O M E .

Every day,

Let's Put On

The Armor of God.

We find our Armor in

Ephesians 6.

Our Armor is 

necessary

if

we want to defeat the devil and his demons.

God reveals to us

the origin of our problems in verse 12.

" For we wrestle

not against flesh and blood,

but against

principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness

of this world,

against

spiritual wickedness in high places. "

God reveals to us

what to do

in verse 13.

" Wherefore take unto you

the whole armour of God,

that ye may be able

to withstand

in the evil day,

and

having done all, to stand. "

Ephesians 6:12-13

I like the 

AMP translation of verse 13 -

" Therefore, 

put on the complete armor of God

so that you will be able to

[successfully]

resist

and stand your ground

in the evil day

[ of danger ]

and having done everything

[that the crisis demands],

to stand firm

[ in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious ].

Ephesians 6:12-13

Lord of Strength and Overcoming Power,

Thank you, Mighty God, for giving me

vital information

that I need to fight the enemy.

You tell me

that

 - first - 

I need to put on my Armor.

I come before you today to put on your Powerful Armor.

I thank you for your Amazing Armor.

And I thank you

for your Powerful Forgiveness of my sins.

I need your forgiveness and cleansing

in order to be

strong and clean. 

I ask right now

that you forgive me of my sins and cleanse me

from all unrighteousness.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation.

I put on my helmet today because - 

I need

to be saved from the plots and plans of the enemy this day.

I put on the Belt of Truth.

I put on my belt today because -

I need to recognize truth

so that I can make wise decisions this day.

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness.

I put on my breastplate because - 

I need to set my heart on righteousness

so that today

I can walk as a firm, faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

I put on the Shoes of Peace.

I put on my shoes today because -

I need to have the peace of Jesus.

I need

my mind and my emotions

to unite

in the calmness, steadiness, and strength

found in

following my Savior.

I pick up the Shield of Faith.

I pick up my shield today because -

I need Renewed Faith today

to counter the attacks

that the enemy will launch in my mind -

attacks against God's Word

and

against my obedience to God's Word.

I pick up the Sword of the Spirit.

I pick up my sword today because -

I need to be

spiritually

revived, rejuvenated, and ready

for my day.

I need

God's Word flowing through me

so that

I will live as a Mighty Warrior for Jesus Christ.

I pray in the NAME and the POWER of Jesus,

Amen

Note:

Every time I put on my armor,

I act like the pieces are visible and tangible.

I actually act out putting each piece on.

It makes putting on my armor more Power - Generating for me.

When I do this at speaking engagements,

people get revved up with me!

But I do not want to FIGHT

This section has the title - 

But... I do not want to fight.

I once had a friendship

where a woman friend of mine and I

would spent hours

talking about Jesus and seeking Jesus' will for our lives.

We loved to find what we called "Diamonds" of new revelations

for following Jesus.

One day she said, "Beth, you are always talking about fighting the enemy and being strong against the enemy.  But I have never wanted to fight the enemy - so

I have avoided fighting him.

Recently, I have come to realize

that

if
I do not get in an offense position

against the enemy,

I am going to be

continually defeated.  "

Folks -

putting on your armor

and

speaking aggressive words against sin

and living aggressively against sin 

is

the only way

to move forward in certain areas of your spiritual growth.

Sin WILL mow you over -

if

you let it. 

Consider our Champion page -  James 4:7 

We all have encountered a

Mountain that hinders us - called Offense.

I remind you that

we CAN move mountains in Jesus' name. 

There are other mountains - like the

two

Mountains

called 

Frequent Anger

and

Frequent Irritation

that

many of us

need to conquer.

We need to speak to our Mountains and say.,.

" You have to GO!! "

Lord,

I have put on my armor today.

So

I am dressed and ready to commune

with you all day today.

Faith is strong in me!

Commitment to you is strong in me!

Motivation is strong in me!

I have stirred up

strength  and  dedication  and  motivation

for

YOUR will in my life.

I am

living this day

in

Victory

 through 

Jesus Christ.

Lord,

you always have strength and motivation

available to me - 

BUT - 

I need to stir it up. 

The Bible has powerful words - ready to be unleashed in my life.

I will read the Bible.

I will stir myself up

to be

all

I can be in Christ Jesus. 

I will be a POWERFUL Overcomer

as I follow my Lord, Jesus.

I will bow down to God 

and surrender -

then

I will stand up

and be POWERFUL against wrong.

Amen

Do not surrender to offense.

Surrender to God.

Surrendering to God

Lord,

Today,

I will surrender my ability to pick up offense.

I will surrender > for my good.

I will surrender >  for your glory.

And

tomorrow, I will again 

come to you

and surrender my ability to pick up offense.

I surrender

all offense to Jesus.

As the old hymn says - 

I surrender ALL

to you.

As

we

move

through life,

let's remember to stay surrendered to God.

Lord,

I bow before you.

Change my heart, O God -  may I be like you.

I now have surrendered to God.

I now

stand 

POWERFUL

in 

Jesus!

I will stand up

strong in the Lord

and

take my sword 

the word of God

and destroy

offense!

No weapon formed against me shall prosper.

No weapon of OFFENSE against me

shall prosper.

I will quickly defeat OFFENSE!!!

As I

fight my battles,

I will continue to move forward.

God

You are with me - 

comforting me

and

stirring me to move forward.

We know that our old self was crucified with Him

so that

the body of sin might be rendered powerless,

that we

should no longer be slaves to sin.

1 Corinthians 6:19 NLT

Don’t you realize

that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit,

who lives in you and was given to you by God?

You do not belong to yourself.

Matthew 20:28 TLB

Your attitude must be like my own,

for I, the Messiah,

did not come to be served,

but to serve,

and

to give my life as a ransom for many.

Lord,

You call me - to choose love instead of offense.

You call me - to choose mercy instead of offense.

You call me - to choose to let go of ungodly emotions. 

You call me - to respond in a godly way.... not in a human way.

There are those

who do not want me to succeed.

There are demonic forces that are against me.

There

may even be people

who do not want me to succeed.

[ Jesus died for those people. ]

But 

God wants me to succeed!

So I will rise up and succeed!

I will give out  love  to ALL.

People like that woman in the picture -  

will not deter me!

AMEN !

I have decided 

to follow

Jesus.

No turning back.

Heavenly Father,

You are my Lord. I worship you. I will yield to you this day. I will yield to your will.

I will yield my emotions, my attitudes, my desires, and my plans.

I will yield as best as I can. I love you, Lord.

I want to be more dedicated to you. Help me to yield to you more deeply. Help me to love your will and be united to your will.

Thank you for renewing my mind to reject offense.

Thank you for overflowing me with mercy toward offenders - those who yield to the devil's whispers. 

Thank you for renewing my mind

so I see the demonic perpetrators as my emenies -

instead of the human offenders. 

Thank you for renewing my mind so I see human offenders as victims of dastardly demons.

Thank you for renewing my mind

so I see human offenders as those in need of more of Jesus -

and

as those in need of my prayers and mercy.

Thank you for renewing my mind

so I see myself

as a team member with Jesus.

I will learn to rise up and be unoffendable.

I want to give you glory in my life. 

   Petty offenses will not gain my emotional attention.

Petty offenses only serve to reveal the needy heart of human offenders.

Unto Jesus - I give my desires.

Unto Jesus - I give my desires for offense. I lay those desires at the foot of the cross. I will leave those desires there. I will walk away free of them. 

I will recognize and unmask the demonic plot to trap me into darkness.

Thank you, Jesus, for teaching me the ugly darkness of offense.

I will sit at your feet and learn from you.

Martha was too busy.

But Mary took time to sit at your feet and learn.

I will yield to you and learn to think like you -

to value what you value.

I will learn to walk in your ways.

I will learn to love your ways.

When offense wants to capture me,

I will declare that I am free in Jesus.

As James 4:7 teaches me - 

I will submit to God.

I will resist the devil's traps.

Jesus, you died to set me free from human limitations that draw me toward serving sin.

Sin comes as tasty morsals but sin turns into bitter fruit. Proverbs 1:29-33.

Lord, I will live in peace with you - safe from offense and its darkness.

I will guard my heart from the darkness of offense.

I will live

in the courts of the miraculous -

allowing you to change my heart and my life.

I will look more and more like my Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ.

I pray this prayer in the name of the Awe-inspiring King who sits on the throne of my heart - Jesus Christ,
