Topic for this week:
Becoming
an
AMAZING Christian who follows Jesus!

We become AMAZING as we follow our
AMAZING GOD!
-
Let's Learn to be
AMAZING

Monday
You can be a
born - again Christian
headed to heaven
and
still think with your old brain.
Your spirit may be
new
but
your mind is still running on old programming.
God tells us to
"Renew our Mind."
This video gives help for us to
Renew our Mind.
Disclaimer: I disagree when the video says, "This doesn't mean your faith is weak." I think it does mean your faith is weak.
As we renew our mind,
our faith
becomes stronger.

Monday Thoughts Continued:
This week
we are learning more about how to...
Challenge old thought patterns
with
TRUTH.

Your mind
naturally
continues to think the way you always have.
This happens
even though
you have given your life to Jesus.

We must TRAIN our mind to think like Jesus.
When we think like Jesus,
we will act like Jesus.

Our mind
naturally defaults
to the thoughts and actions
that we have practiced the most.
Those well-practiced thoughts and actions
are like the well-worn paths below.

In the picture above,
there are two well-worn paths.
Our mind naturally follows
well-worn paths of thought.
As Christians,
God calls us to make NEW paths of thought -
and of actions!

God gave us a mind that is ready
to be trained
to change
and
think new thought patterns
based on
what we
repeatedly think, say, and do.

To become more like Jesus
we need to
choose to
apply intentional effort
to...
reading God's Word with a teachable heart
and to
obeying God's Word.
-
As we become consistent in these two things,
we will change.
-
And when we fall deeper in love with God,
then our change
will not only be strengthened by our continual practicing,
but also
our change will be
anchored in new desires we have developed.

" Don't be like the people of this world,
but let
God
change the way you think.
Then
you will know
how to do everything
that is
good and pleasing to him. "

Today
we find out more about...
Strongholds,
Hindrances,
and
6 Easy Steps
to
rewire your brain.
Biblical meditation
It is using the mind to think about Bible Scriptures.
And speak out-loud God's Scriptures.
God wants us to do Bible meditation.
2. Non-biblical Meditation
This is a dangerous type promoted by the world.
In it, you empty your mind and try not to think.
Some people even tell you to
encourage voices to speak to you.

Please consider our page on
ungodly, worldly meditation - click here

Steps from the video
1. Get still before God.
This just means slow down, and
turn off
all distractions.
2. Meditate in a godly way
in His truth.
That does not mean emptying your brain.
3. Affirm the truth. Speak it.
When you speak truth,
your brain re-wires around that truth.
4. Practice for 21 days.
Note that -
It takes some people a lot more than 21 days.
But keep standing firm and continue.
5. Make it a morning and night routine.
Psalm 63:1
Psalm 16:7
Deut. 6:7
6. Make it a lifestyle.
Romans 12:2
Philippians 4:8
Col. 3:16

Thursday
Today
I am sharing more about growing spiritually.
I have a theory -
I have a theory that we really don't like to lie.
So....
My theory is that we naturally
reinforce in our mind
as truth
what
we speak out-loud.

Let's take lying
as an example.
When a person tells a lie,
that person then tries to justify
that the lie is true.

A Simple Example
A person says,
"I didn't steal the cookie."
Then thoughts such as these flow...
"Well, it is not really stealing.
I'm just taking one cookie.
And I brought cookies and shared them previously.
So that person owes me a cookie. "
And
on and on the thoughts go.
-
That action of
" reinforcing lying "
by justifying it,
is not good for your soul.
We have to come against that natural tendency.

Speaking God's Word
- even if we don't totally believe it in our heart -
is NOT lying.

In Mark 9:24 b NKJV
a man said to Jesus,
“ Lord, I believe; help my unbelief! ”
We all have struggled
with solidly believing God's Word.

I teach people
to use that information about our natural tendencies
in godly ways to reinforce God's Word.
I use it to teach people
to tell themselves God's truth
while allowing godly thoughts
that come into their head,
to help reinforce God's truth.
See example below.

Here is an Example
of using this tendency in a godly way for godly purposes....
When people
are not totally solidified
in the truth that God loves them,
then this happens......
They will say,
"I am not sure God loves me"
and then
find reasons to bolster that sentence.
They naturally give reasons
why
what they just said is truth.
This is because
they innately
want to speak honestly
about their feelings and thoughts.
But
it is also because we naturally justify what we say.
The result
of disagreeing with God
is
that
we sabotage our spiritual growth.
To renew our mind -
we can use that theory
and tweak (adjust) it a bit
so it becomes an advantage to us.

The Process
of
Saying God's truth and Believing it
If I often say,
"I am sure God loves me"
then
I will begin to think of reasons
that I am telling the truth.
If I say,
"I am sure God loves me"
and if
I shut down negative thoughts,
I will
naturally begin to think godly reasons
about
why God loves me.
Then my mind will slowly change to believe God!
-
Of course, you also encourage godly thoughts to flow.
Yet, it probably won't be as hard as you think it is because we naturally want to tell the truth.
When you speak God's Truth - you speak Truth!

God wants us to speak truth
about what HE says is true.
He wants us to
renew our thoughts and feelings by HIS truth.

So -
If we will persist and continue to say,
"I am sure God loves me."
while
intentionally coming against negative thoughts pouring
unrestricted,
we
will begin to
have thoughts that reinforce that God loves me!
We do that,
because we naturally want to justify
that what we say is true.
As you practice this over and over....
your innate tendencies
to justify
that
what you say > is the truth
will
help you more and more
because
you actually want to speak truth
and
your mind
is getting renewed to God's truth BEING truth
in the depths of your being.
This
will take a little determination -
but it actually moves you forward spiritually.
And God's truth
about his love
will FEEL good as it gets solidified in you.
