2 Timothy 4 verse 3

2 Timothy 4 verse 3

NLT

says

For a time is coming

when

people

will no longer listen

to sound and wholesome teaching.

They will

follow

their own desires

and will look for

teachers

who will tell them

whatever their

itching ears want to hear.

Folks -

that

time

is

now here.

woman-out-loud-attention

I've seen many things

happening in our world

that make me think of

2 Timothy 4:3.

Many serious false teachings

are being proclaimed

inside of churches!

May 2025,

I heard about an outrageous teaching

that eclipses

most

of the other crazy things I've heard.

shocked-surprised

A man

who is called a

"pastor"

Delman Coates

Mt. Ennon Baptist Church

is teaching

that

sexual sin is only sin

if you have sex with a prostitute.

Coates SAYS -

Sex before marriage is fine -

except for sex with a prostitute.

Coates SAYS -

if you are married,

it is ok to have sex with other people

as long as

you are not having sex with a prostitute.

This is a prime example of

2 Timothy 4:3.

We need to

run

from such "pastors" or any person

who stands before you and promotes such things.

man-running-fear

Below,

we see a Youtuber named Corey

dismantling

this " pastor's " unbiblical

and down right

anti-Biblical nonsense.

Note: The congregation's applause for sin in this wicked sermon indicates the darkness in the hearts of the congregation. Repentance is needed.

Corey did a great job of

proving

the false teaching

of Delman Coates.

Let's remind ourselves of the fact that

many Scriptures teach the opposite of Delman Coates.

I will highlight

two

of Corey's many excellent points.

First

Highlighting

1 Corinthians 7:8-9 NKJV

Introduction:

Paul is teaching that being single is a good choice

unless you strongly desire to have sex,

then

you need to get married.

Do not fornicate - Do not burn with passion

instead -

Get married!

black arrow

I say to the unmarried and to the widows:

It is good for them

 if they remain even as I am;

but

if

they cannot exercise self-control,

let them marry.

For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

1 Corinthians 7:8-9

Obviously,

if

Delman Coates was correct,

that Scripture passage

would make no sense.

Second

In

John 8:40 - 41

Jesus is talking with the Pharisees.

Introduction:

The Pharisees knew Joseph was not his biological father.

They assumed that

Mary had sex with someone other than Joseph

to produce Jesus.

Verse 41 shares their thought process.

Bible-2023-search

We begin with the Pharisees speaking...

They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.”

Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. 41 You do the deeds of your father.”

Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”

42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

The Pharisees

were trying to

shame

Jesus

by pointed out

 (their false belief)

that he was conceived in

f o r n i c a t i o n.

Preacher Coates

says the word "fornication" in our Bibles

is only defined as

having sex with a prostitute

(giving money to have sex).

Yet it is obvious that

the Pharisees

were not implying that

Mary

paid to have sex or that she herself was a prostitute.

Preacher Coates

is

turning the Bible

upside down

in order to

try to put

a stamp of approval on premarital sex - and adultery.

blue-purple-arrow

Years ago,

no one would have stood up in church

and

tried to convince

anyone of

this view of the definition of

"fornication"

because

in previous years,

people

were not indoctrinated

in the world's darkness

enough so that

they would agree with this crazy reasoning.

Thirty years ago,

every person

would have walked out of that church.

Today our society has become

so sin-soaked

and

hearts are so messed up

that

people will now tolerate such teaching -

in fact some are running to such teaching!

Two Additional Points

First

Delman Coates himself admits to the audience that

"This is probably the first time

you ever heard

this preached in a church."

YEP  -

he is admitting that

ALL

the other

preachers,  theologians,  and  Bible translators

disagree with him.

So

for 2,000 years

they have all been wrong

about sexual sin.

Isaiah-Bible

Isaiah 5:20 a

says...

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil."

black arrow

Second

It should be noted that

in Scriptures,

God sometimes uses the word "harlot" in a wider context

than just a prostitute.

We see God uses that word to describe unfaithfulness to God.

The same can be said of the word "adultery."

Examples:

Hosea 4:11-13, Jeremiah 3:6-8, Jeremiah 3:9, Jeremiah 3:14, Ezekiel 23:5

Take Note:

There are other

Serious False Teachings

that

we need to run from.

-

For example -

Be aware that

the

false belief

that

> >    everyone goes to heaven    < <

is

becoming

popular.

Universalism is the name of this teaching.

Universalism says - All people go to heaven.

The Truth is

Many, many

Bible Scriptures

explain

that

lots of people

will go to

hell.

See our page Walking with Jesus Matthew 7:13-14

The narrow gate leads to heaven

The wide gate leads to hell.

We hear Jesus talking about the seriousness of hell

in verses like

Mark 9:43-48 and Matthew 13:40-42.

See also 2 Thessalonians chapter 1.
