Discouragement often comes from

thinking about our failures.

The topic today is:

We all mess up

So....

How do we deal with it?

If you are a regular visitor to this site,

you know that I promote

putting on the

Full Armor of God

regularly

in order to

energize us

and

get us ready for our day.

Nevertheless, there is

not one of us

who suits up

(which means that we put on our Armor)

and then goes out and conquers

 - perfectly - 

every day.

The Following TWO Prayers

are for those who want to

suit up

every day

and live for Christ

but realize that they often

mess up - even though - their heart

is dedicated to God.

I ask that you

consider

praying one of these prayers

There are two prayers to choose from.

The First Prayer

is for those

who

- did not - 

put on their armor today.

The Second Prayer

is for those

who

- did - 

put on their armor today

but still messed up big time!

Introduction to the

First Prayer:

We’ve all had days when we didn’t show up for God.

Our mind and our heart weren’t fully there for him.

We didn’t suit up and put on our Full Armor.

We didn’t engage in the battle of the day.

First Prayer

for Discouragement

Dear God,

I went AWOL today.

I didn't put on my armor.

I didn't show up for you today.

I let my mind and my emotions run amuck.

I showed  - little to no -  self-control in the areas
you are working with me on.

I let the things of this world capture and draw
my attention.

I let selfishness and self-centeredness gain ground in me.

I messed up.

I really messed up.

Forgive me.

Help me to conquer these emotions of
discouragement,
frustration, and sadness.

Help me to be determined to put on my ARMOR
and
Stand Strong and Mighty in the Power of God.

Pour your love on me.

Remind me that you treasure and adore me.

Revive my enthusiasm for experiencing victory in Christ.

Refresh me.

Refocus me.

Renew my mind and reinvigorate my emotions.

Re-energize me.

I want to cooperate with you.

I will try to stir up right thoughts in my heart.

In Jesus' name I pray,

Introduction to the

Second Prayer:

This prayer

is for those

who DID put on their Armor today

but still

messed up BIG TIME!

We’ve all had days when we showed up for God.

Our mind and our heart WERE focused

on pleasing God.

We suited up!

We engaged in the battle!

But

somewhere during the day

we really messed up.

Maybe we messed up multiple times.

And now,

We need encouragement!

Second Prayer

for Discouragement

God,

I showed up today.

I put on my armor.

I went on the battlefield.

And

I messed up.

I really messed up.

Forgive me.

Pour your love on me.

Remind me that you treasure and adore me.

Revive me.

Refresh me.

Refocus me.

Renew my mind and reinvigorate my emotions.

Re-energize me.

I will stir up thoughts of STRENGTH, BOLDNESS, and VICTORY.

I will stir up DETERMINATION.

I will be comforted as I remind myself that tomorrow is a new day.

I may have been sidelined somewhat today, but I am not defeated.

The Belt of Truth tells me that I was born to be a Champion for Jesus Christ.

So I will get back up and walk in my rightful position!

Thank you that I am fully forgiven, fully loved, and fully accepted by you.

Amen
