Inspirational Prayers

A Tip from a Bible Champion

John the Baptist was a Bible Champion.

~ ~ ~

John the Baptist

served God

with Boldness and Courage.

He had GREAT self-control and determination.

-

One of the secrets to his

Power

and

Dedication

is revealed

in the Bible.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

John 3:30

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

One day

John the Baptist

was discussing Jesus with some men.

John explained to them:

"He must increase; I must decrease."

In other words:

Jesus must become more important

and

I must become less important.

- - -

These words weren't just about

the position of Jesus in society

and in the religious community.

It also indicated John's personal dedication to Jesus.

John learned the secret of making Jesus

(Jesus' words & goals)

a focus

of importance in his life

while

he intentionally worked on

making his own wants and desires less important.

~~~
To have victory over temptations and selfishness,
we have to make Jesus more important in our life
and make our wants and desires
less important in our life.
~
In order to please God and be a Champion for Christ
we have to make Jesus more important in our life
and
make our wants and desires
less important in our life.
Let's position ourselves for
VICTORY!
Dear Lord,
Remind me to often think about John's words.
Give me ideas on how to
apply John the Baptist's words
to my life.
Show me how to increase YOU in my life.
Show me how to decrease "myself" in my life.
You have GREAT plans for me!
You have GREAT plans for me to be an Overcomer!
You have GREAT VICTORIES for me to experience!
I will position myself
so that
I can
receive your inspiration and motivation.
When I am following you closely,
I will see miracles in my life.
My life will look more and more
like
JESUS!
AMEN!
Prayer for our Loved Ones
Heavenly Father,
I lift up my loved ones to you.
Help me not to be satisfied with where my loved ones are with you.
Help me to be stirred up to pray that they come into a deeper relationship with you – Deeper passion for you – Deeper commitment to you – Deeper revelations about you.
God, give me a passion to pray for my loved ones.
Give me a passion to love them in more selfless ways.
Strengthen me and encourage me to be a prayer warrior for my family and friends.
In Jesus’ name,
and in loving devotion I pray,
Amen
DISCovering Insights into
Handling Pressure
Each month
this section of the newsletter
focuses on
the DISC
Four Basic Personality Styles.
~
Each month this section examines a particular topic
through the lens of the
Four Personality Styles
so that
we can learn more about
ourselves and others.
* * * * *
The topic this month is
DISCovering Insights into our
Reactions under Pressure
Each of the
Four Personality Styles
tends to respond to
Pressure
in
Predictable ways.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
We encourage you to check to see if you respond to pressure in the way that most people with your personality style do.
AND note that your second highest style may also gives clues to your normal pressure-reliever choices.
The "D" Personality Style is generally outgoing and task-oriented.
Under pressure this style will
often
choose to "work" in order to
relieve the feelings of pressure.
~ ~ ~
They naturally think that:
Working will help.
Accomplishing something will help.
~
"I need to accomplish something."
~ ~ ~
The "I" Personality Style
The "I" style is generally outgoing and people-oriented.
Under pressure this style will
often
choose to "play" in order to
relieve the feelings of pressure.
~ ~ ~
They naturally think that:
Playing will help.
-
"I need to have some fun."
~ ~ ~
The "S" Personality Style
is generally reserved and people-oriented.
Under pressure this style will
often
choose to "rest" in order to
relieve the feelings of pressure.
~ ~ ~
They naturally think that:
Resting will help.
~
"I need to have some calm time."
"I need to rest for a few minutes."
"I need to quietly tinker with something."
~ ~ ~
The "C" Personality Style
The "C" style is generally reserved and task-oriented.
Under pressure this style will
often
choose to "think" in order to
relieve the feelings of pressure.
~ ~ ~
They naturally believe that:
Thinking will help.
~
"I need to figure out what to do to make things better."
"I need to figure out how to 'fix' things.
~ ~ ~
"Cs" often rely on thinking and analyzing to make life better.
~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~
When life gets hard...
The "D" usually says,
"When Life gets hard - you work harder."
~ ~ ~
The "I" usually says,
"When Life gets hard - you play harder."
~ ~ ~
The "S" usually says,
"When Life gets hard - you try harder to calm down and create harmony."
~ ~ ~
The "C" usually says,
"When Life gets hard - you think harder."
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~
~
Explaining the natural "C" Perspective:
The "C" individual wants life to get better - so they usually "think harder" or "analyze harder" or "study harder" in order to figure out what to do.
– OR –
"Cs" try to fix someone else so things get better.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Many times it takes more words to explain the "C" style!
