Prayers for Repairs - INTRODUCTION

Before a new heating unit

was installed in my home,

I began to ponder all the things that could go wrong.

After all,

when we had a new refrigerator put in,

the delivery men broke our entry door

with the refrigerator

and then scrapped the paint off

our kitchen door trim

as they took the refrigerator

through the kitchen door.

So my mind went wild

with what could happen the next time

a repair or installation person came to our home.

Then a novel idea hit me -

we should PRAY before we have someone

come

to our home!

I can't believe it took us this long to think of

PRAYING

about this kind of situation.

Protect your Home

AND

to minister

to those who come to your home

to do repairs or installations.

Pray for a Repairman?

YES!

That is a good idea!

Below is a Sample Prayer

Prayer for Repair Situations

Father God,

I come to you today to pray about my heating replacement unit and its installation.

I ask that you would send me a unit that is free of defects. I ask that you would send a unit that is blessed by you to work for years without problems and/or malfunctions.

God, I also pray for your help during the installation.

I ask that you would guide my repairmen's thoughts so that they will use wisdom in how to put the unit in and how to take the old unit out.

And I ask that you would help them -  not to forget -  anything important as they work.

Bless their time. Go before them so that there will be no hindrances to their work.

I ask that you would bring harmony and unity to my repairmen. May they work smoothly together.

I pray that each of the men would feel your peace as they walk onto my property. I pray that my property and my house would have a different feel. May they realize that you are the one bringing that peace. May this day of installation be a day of drawing each one closer to you.

Lord, remind me to interact with them in a way that shows that I live for Jesus.

Give me ideas to help them FEEL the love of God.

Remind me that this situation is an opportunity to pray for them. I pray that you will bless them and strongly draw them to strengthen their relationship to you.

Show me how to be a blessing to them as they seek to do a good job for me.

Great Opportunity!

As I was praying about a repair situation,

I realized that

when someone comes to your house

to repair or replace something,

it is a great opportunity

to touch that person for Christ.

Ideas

What can I do to make my home different from all the rest?

How can I reach out with the love of Jesus?

I could...

Consider offering refreshments.

Perhaps delicious doughnuts or some fresh fruit.

I could do something simple like bake some slice and bake cookies. . .
On a cold day,
nothing says
"warmth and friendliness"
like warm -  just out of the oven -  cookies and hot coffee.

Use your imagination.

Bless your repairman so that he never forgets your kindness.

Make this repair situation a day

that your repairman

will always remember

in a very positive way.
