Prayers for Prosperity

This "Prayers for Prosperity" page contains

both prayer and Bible study.

For some of you, the teaching on this page will be a review.

For others, you will be seeing new aspects to scripture than you have seen before. We all can benefit through opportunities to enlarge our faith in the written Word of God.

Our Prayers for Prosperity page is for those of you
who believe that God wants us to prosper financially,
and you just want to hear how others came to believe that too.

2014 update:

Please be careful.
I believe in Prosperity and yet
I've seen every teacher of prosperity that I know become apostate.

I am very concerned -
not about the prosperity message
at least the way I teach it -
but I am very concerned and alarmed
about the fact that every prosperity teacher
that I know has
(within the past couple of years)
fallen away from one or more important Biblical doctrines.

Most of them have fallen into the
NEW Grace message which is a
nothing but a thinly - covered teaching
on the virtue of lawlessness.

Lawlessness is a condition of a person.
It is when someone refuses to acknowledge
the conviction of the Holy Spirit and
refuses to repent of a sinful lifestyle.

See Matthew 7:23

And yet I know that they aren't the only ones. I am finding that even many Bible teachers who do not teach prosperity are falling away.

It seems every few days I find out about another Bible teacher who now believes an anti-christian doctrine such as:

** Christians aren't the only ones to go to heaven, or

** Jesus is not God, or

** Sexual sin is not that important, or

** All gods are the same as the Christian God, or

** All Christians should unite with everyone who calls themselves Christians even if some of the "Christians" are teaching apostasy, or

** Following Jesus and being obedient to his Word is not really important.

In addition, many teachers and preachers are now telling us to follow the NEW grace message which teaches many anti-biblical things such as:

  • sin isn't a big deal anymore,    (but Jesus said if you love me you will obey me)
  • we need to run from "sin consciousness,"
  • the Holy Spirit doesn't convict Christians of sin,
  • anything in the Old Testament is the Old covenant, so we can essentially ignore it.
  • many of the things Jesus said was before he died on the cross so we can ignore those passages

Clarifying the last bullet point: Some new grace teachers even say that everything Jesus said was for unsaved Jews, so we really don't need to be convicted of anything Jesus said.

One famous grace teacher on television
even says that holiness involves "being fearful"
and then he says we should take note
that the first people going into the lake of fire
are the fearful.

This man is twisting the meaning of scripture
and by twisting Scripture
HE makes people
AFRAID
to try to follow God's Word!

Every book of the Bible including the 7 letters to the churches found in the book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3 - tell us to pursue holiness and seek to be obedient to God. Several times in Revelation chapters 2 and 3, Jesus tells Christians to repent.

This notion that Christians should never repent is anti-biblical.

Christians don't lose our salvation if we sin,
but if we sin and then refuse to repent of our sins,
our hearts become hard.
God wants us to live with a tender heart
that is always ready to ask the Lord
for forgiveness when the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin.

Be alert. Don't justify continuing to listen to someone who has begun preaching a different message than the one we have been given in the Bible. Say a sincere prayer for that person and move away from all his or her teaching.

I do have prayer for prosperity on this page. But before I present it,
I want to add a quick note:

2015 Note:

My life does not reflect the prosperity
that prosperity teachers preach about.
But as I see them
falling into apostasy,
I am glad that I haven't devoted a lot of
my prayer time
to praying for prosperity.

I wonder if that is what drew them away from God.

I find myself putting prosperity
very low on my list of things to pray about.

Perhaps if they had spent more time
praying about staying faithful to God's word,
they would not be slipping into apostasy.

Note that I sincerely pray for them
that they would repent and follow hard after God's Word.

Prayers for Prosperity

Lord,

Your Word tells me that you want me to be prosperous. Your Word tells me that you want me to arrive at a place where I will have abundant finances. You Word tells me that when you bless me financially, you are showing your covenant intentions. That sounds wonderful, Lord.

I want to thank you for revealing to me that it is your will to prosper me financially.

Lord, Your Word tells me that you financially bless those who are obedient to you and those who love you and put your kingdom first. I realize that to truly have financial freedom, I need to love you and obey your word.

Lord, I come to you, ready to press into your will and your plans in my life more fully than I have before. I declare that am going to allow you to live through me more fully.

Lord, I realize that if I am obeying just to get money, I've totally missed the entire meaning of your scriptures. Help me to keep my priorities reflecting  your priorities.

I declare that I will continually delight myself in you, Lord.

I will praise you, my God and King, and bless your name each day and forever.

In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen

Prayers for Prosperity - Scripture references

"But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God" for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy father, as it is this day." Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV (God gives the power to get wealth to establish his covenant - the one with Abraham and as we shall see in Galatians - that is also with us.)

(This does not imply that we should hoard money. We are to be givers - generous givers. In addition, I remind you that the Bible sometimes has conditions to its promises.)

A few years ago I went on a search to see if God

really did want us to prosper financially.

One of the Scriptures that I couldn't ignore or deny without being ridiculous was in Proverbs.

"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous." Proverbs 13:33 NKJV

God wants us to have enough money to leave plenty for our children and grandchildren. It has to mean that because of the comment about the wealth of the sinner. If the inheritance was a good name or integrity or love, then it would have to fit the second part of the verse.

Many other verses were powerful in convincing me of God's will in finances.

I will continue by talking about the blessing of Abraham and how God said that the blessings of Abraham are for us.

The Blessing of Abraham is for us:

Galatians 3:13-14 “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree' that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Verse 16 “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made."

Verse 29 “And if you are Christ's then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

So we are heirs to what was given to Abraham.

What was given to Abraham?

Genesis 22:15-17a NKJV “Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham, a second time out of heaven, and said: 'By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son – blessing I will bless you and multiplying I will multiply your descendants.'”

Genesis 24:1 NKJV “Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.”

All things probably means ALL THINGS.

We see in the next few verses that blessed is associated with financial wealth....

Genesis 24:34-35 NKJV “So he said, 'I am Abraham's servant. The Lord has blessed my master greatly, and he has become great, and He has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys.”

Genesis 26:12 NKJV “Then Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him.”

Genesis 12:1-2 NKJV “Now the Lord had said to Abram: 'Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.'”

Genesis 13:2 NKJV “Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.”

It appears obvious to me that God means to bless financially.

However, there are conditions to the blessing. Meaning that there are conditions to manifestation of the blessing in finances.

We will point out two verses about this:

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33 KJV

"If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land." Isaiah 1:19 KJV

If you would like to examine some of God's wisdom about acquiring wealth, please see our Biblical Finances page.

There are some conditions....

Yet just like with healing - God wants all healed but not all are healed - God wants all prospering financially - yet all are not. We study the Bible so we can access as much healing (and financial blessing) as we possibly can. Yet we do not know all things. We are all still learning.

Praying prayers for prosperity is fine if we keep the main things the main things. All too often, Christians begin to focus on money and take their focus on drawing close to God and on spiritual growth.

Very Important:

This is not an essential doctrine for Salvation.

We do not believe that we should get upset with people who hold a different opinion about prosperity.

We at Inspirational-Prayers believe in harmony and unity among the brethren in matters that are not essential. This topic has been used by some to create strife among the brethren. We do not agree with using this topic to create any strife.

We at Inspirational-Prayers are still learning and growing in the Lord. We are not trying to discourage anyone. We are trying to encourage everyone.

God does want to bless us financially.

However, in every life, it is normal to have seasons of financial difficulty.

If you feel that you are having a lifetime of financial difficulty instead of a long season of difficulty, we encourage you to go to our Biblical finances page and begin to study scriptures on the subject.

As believers, we must pursue God's wisdom, be obedient and be open to learning spiritual warfare in order to see more of the manifestations of the blessing.

Again, this page is intended to build up. If you do not hear the message that way, you have misinterpreted our words and intentions.

Note: If you look over my website, you will see 400 pages and only one on the subject of prosperity. Don't forget to keep the main things the main things.
