Prayer for Enemies

This page is for those

who have worked on their forgiveness

and are ready to go deeper.

I (Beth)

recently had a woman write me asking

for prayer concerning a situation in her life.

She had read our original "Prayer for Enemies"

and wanted some specific prayer.

I wrote a personal prayer for her situation.

Then soon after that

another woman wrote

asking for more prayer

on this topic.

I decided to take the prayer that I had written for

the first woman

and change it a little

and share it here - on our website.

Below is prayer

that

I am praying with YOU  - the reader of this page.

I'm asking you  -  the reader of this page

to join with me

in prayer

for the difficult person

in your life.

~ ~ ~

Below begins a prayer conversation
with you, me, and God - on your behalf.

Near the end of the prayer conversation below, I underline certain words.

Each underlined word represents YOUR name.

When I underline a word,

it means I am inserting your name

or a pronoun representing

YOUR name.

~

The quick message below will help you
to understand:

Reader of this page,

I am praying

that through prayer you will be able

to be more fully released

from the emotional and mental distress

that this person has caused.

Let's you and I come together

to pray for this person in your life.

Note to Remember:

People who give great hurts to others

have a heart

that needs to follow God's principles of love.

He or she
needs to have
the eyes of his or her understanding opened.

Introduction Prayer

Lord,

We come in prayer together

asking

that you

help this person

who is inflicting wounds and pain.

We want to obey you by
praying for this person.

Lord, we need your help to give rise to words and attitudes of blessing for this person
who has been so hurtful.

Lord, as the reader and I
pray the words of this prayer,
and the next prayer,
we do so by an act of our will,
by the power of God, in the name of Jesus.

Amen

Main Prayer

This prayer is written twice.

First for a man and then for a woman.

Dear Lord,

Through YOUR power, we are able to pray blessings for this person.

We pray that you will expose the lies this person believes.

We pray that this person will be exposed to the truths he needs in order to break up the hardness in his heart.

We pray that you will reveal to him an understanding of the damage he does to others.

We pray that you will give him thoughts that will bring him to repentance and transformation.

We pray for healing for the hurts that he has experienced in life that have dulled his kindness and his compassion for others.

We pray for healing for the wounds that he has gotten that have coated his heart with hardness.

We pray that you would pour your love over this person.

Let the warmth of your love melt the hard places in his heart.

May this person experience an encounter with you that will forever leave him a changed person.

May this person come to appreciate and crave kindness, tenderness, and gentleness.

May this person find himself becoming a vessel of blessing instead of a container that pours out pain.

Lord, we pray this prayer knowing that the transforming path you will seek to take this person on -  could take some time to manifest change.  Yet, we still boldly ask that soon this person would begin to submit to you and allow you to guide him.

Lord, bless the one praying this prayer with me  as he/she prays this prayer as a sacrifice to you.

Soothe _________'s mind and heart. Remind _____ of your great love for him/her. Bring supernatural healing medicine to him/her. Give him/her thoughts that will elevate him/her above the past and even above any future distresses.

Help _______ to feel so good  - about growing spiritually and becoming mature and satisfied in you -  that the things involving this difficult person will begin to fade in importance.

Lord, help __________ to be able to avoid this person when possible  - as you heal him/her from this person's wounds and continually guide the person who has been inflicting wounds down the path to transformation.

This prayer is said in Jesus’ name,

Amen
